Projectoree 2004
Newsletter #4, 4/1/2004

Greetings to All.

This is your formal reminder of the 2nd (and final) Organizational Meeting THIS SUNDAY NIGHT at St. Agnes' Parish Center, again starting at 7:30. As usual, please be present by 7:15/7:20 for socializing, etc., and be in your seats at 7:30 sharp. I will start the meeting exactly on time, and I expect it to last less than 45 minutes. Although I will be wearing mine, Scout Uniforms are NOT required attire.

IMPORTANT! - Remember that the jump to daylight savings occurs early this Sunday morning - don't make the silly mistake and end up an hour late. At this meeting, you are likely to find no one but me present if you're an hour late, and I can guarantee you I will not be at all happy to see you at that time.

IMPORTANT! - Tomorrow (Friday) marks the start of Spring Break for all local public schools; thus, a good number of people on this e-net will likely not be in town this Sunday. As always, DON'T ASSUME that someone is covering for your Troop - MAKE SURE.

You all know the penalty for failure to attend, on time, so I won't further belabor the point.

An agenda will be provided at the meeting.

----------

1) Paperwork and Information Due

* Copy of Approved Tour Permit.
* Copy of your current Troop Roster (with all of your New Scouts inputted! Remember, your actual roster, not a handwritten sheet of names.)
* Title of your Skit or Song.
* Update of Attendance Figures (remember, we are in a waiting list situation at this time, so it is critical to have good, hard numbers! The last set of attendance figures is appended below.)

2) You Will Receive

* Two hard copies of the complete Projectoree Guide.
* Your Troop's Projectoree Ribbon.

3) We Will Discuss

* Time Frame for T-Shirt Orders.
* Time Frame for Staff Food Orders.
* Equipment Pickups and/or Exchanges (if your Unit ran an event in the past, and has equipment for it, please let the people who are running it this year know, and make arrangements for pickup).
* New Scout Registrations.
* (Possibly) The Service Project Particulars.
* The Need for Senior Scout Participation.
* What Happens if we don't Voluntarily Drop to 30 Patrols?
* Cicadas.
* Other Problems?
* Questions?

Here (again) are the collective results from the First Organizational Meeting:

Unit # Patrols Total Scouts Total Adults
104 1 or 2 18 4
111 6 60 10
128 2 or 3 20 6
149 3 25 6
151 1 13 3
167 3 30 10
624 4 40 10
638 4 38 8
647 2 16 4
648 2 20 6
667 1 8 3
869 1 14 3
1130 2 20 5
13 320 78

...for a total of 32 - 34 Patrols. 30 is the maximum number of Patrols, so as you can see, we are in a waiting list situation. Past experience has shown that we generally lose about 3 Patrols in the last week before Projectoree, so I will not agonize over this (yet).
