Greetings to All.
Too bad the Projectoree wasn't this past weekend, huh? Wow.
T-Shirt Orders are due to me (Dr. Bob) by 3pm THIS Friday (4/23); please use the ordering form to get it correct - drbob-at-troop111.org (replace the -at- with @). All Units indicated that they are ordering T-Shirts for this year's Projectoree, so I need forms from all Units.
Staff Food Orders are due to Clay Henderson by 3pm THIS Friday (4/23); please use the ordering form to get it correct - wc.henderson-at-verizon.net (replace the -at- with @). Remember, ALL UNITS MUST TURN IN A STAFF FOOD ORDER WHETHER YOU HAVE ANYONE EATING STAFF FOOD OR NOT (so that we can properly plan for the Friday night PLC).
All Projectoree Troops meet on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, so these deadlines should not be difficult to make. I suggest that you send out an email across your Troop nets today to remind everyone that this is the week to commit. Remember, there are no changes allowed after this Friday, and you must pay for whatever you order.
The ordering forms were included in the red folders you received at the Second Organizational Meeting.
The site visit is 11am this coming Friday (4/23), at the gate to Camp Wilson. If you will be there, please send me an email.
I still need various forms and/or information (Rosters, Approved Tour Permits, Skit or Song Titles) from some of the Units listed in Newsletter #5.
This is the week to *schedule* your equipment pickups either from myself or from other Units who have the equipment from years past. Pickups from myself can be scheduled through next Thursday, 4/29; however, I will be on a campout much of this upcoming weekend, so that is not a good time frame. Also, I will not be here past 6 am on Friday, 4/30.
Finally, note that the SAT's are being given on Saturday, May 1st. This is clearly impacting on Senior Scout participation in 111, and I suspect elsewhere as well. Please push your Senior Scouts who are otherwise free to participate this year - and remind them that there were plenty of Senior Scouts who worked for them when they were still in the Patrols; it's their turn now.
Cicada Watch: The hatch is currently predicted for around May 5th - 8th; however, note that Pohick Bay is usually a little warmer than Arlington and McLean, and so it may begin earlier down there. We can only hope. My cautions on protecting your food preps remain in effect.
A week and a half to go!
