Canada - Adult Assignments - Vehicles
Greetings All,
These are the current Adult assignments for Killarney. All Scouts
and Parents should note who is handling what, so that you may direct
your questions or responses appropriately.
- All Paperwork and Forms (including medicals) - Rob B.
- Menu Planning, Food Purchase, and Organizing - Dr. Bob
- Consumables Purchase and Organizing - Dan and Micki C. (List
to be provided by Dr. Bob)
- Banker and Receipts - Rick W.
- Transportation and Seat Assignments Czar - Hugh S.
- Games (Cards, Frisbees, Chess Games) - Rich S.
- Medications and First Aid Czars - Al M. and Rob B.
- Troop Gear Organizing - Dr. Bob and Dan and John C.
- Master of Ceremonies at Assemblies - Rob B.
- Gear Packing - Rich S. and Senior Scouts
- CB Radios Set-Up - Chris W.
Current Vehicles and Capacities:
- Troop B Van (Equipment): 2 (Rich S. and ?)
- Troop C Van: 10 (Dr. Bob and ??)
- Beckman Minivan: 5 (Rob B. and ??)
- Wolff MiniVan: 4 (Rick W. and ??)
- Mazloom Jeep: 2 (Al M. and friend, travelling
independently from upstate New York)
Note that (except for Troop Van B) the vehicles are NOT filled to
maximum capacities. Troop Van C will have 5 extra seats, and Rob
B.'s and Rick W.'s vans can also take extra people if needed.
Carry-on luggage may be stored in Troop Van B or in individual
vehicles as desired. Tim A., Dan C. and Gordon P. have also offered
to drive if needed (at this point, none are needed.)
All vehicles should undergo a standard "vacation" check, and
should arrive fully "ready to roll." Items to check:
- Gas
- Oil
- Transmission Fluid
- Air pressure (most importantly, check and inflate your
spare!)
- Coolant
- Windshield Wipers (including rear where applicable)
- Windshield Wiper Fluid (including rear where applicable)
- Brake Fluid
- Power Steering Fluid
- Tire Jack is present (all parts!)
- Road Flares or Reflective Triangles
- Cigarette Lighter works (you'll need for the CB radios; if
dead (even when the ignition is "on"), you probably have a dead
fuse.)
- All lights (remember, we'll be travelling with all lights on
the entire trip (it's the law in Canada!)
If your A/C or battery appear to be dogs, you may wish to have
both professionally checked.
- Bob
Home.
