Eagle Scout
Chris Yarbrough
Our 47th Eagle Scout, Chris Yarbrough, passed his Eagle
Boards on 19 August 1994, another entry from the "Class of `89!" The
Board was most impressed with his overall credentials, which - as usual -
were way ahead of the "usual" BSA minimums.
Chris's role call:
- 36 Merit Badges***
- 3 50-Miler Awards
- 57 Days of Long-term Camping
- 56 Days of Short-term Camping
- 3 High Adventure Treks
- 1 Mile Swim Award
- Ad Altare Dei Award
- 31 Hours of Trail Service
- 34 Hours of Troop Service
- 32 Hours of Community Service
- Assistant Patrol Leader
- Patrol Leader
- Assistant Senior Patrol Leader
- Troop Scribe
- *** ties Jeff Lucier for most Merit Badges earned by an Eagle Scout
in the history of the Troop
Chris's Eagle Project - Renovated and repaired approximately
half of the White Oak Way trail at Potomac Overlook Park, from the
footbridge behind the tennis courts towards the Nature Center, including
erosion barriers, trail lining and building up worn out sections with
gravel. This section of trail was badly worn out from extensive
mountain biking and hikers, and the project pretty much made a new trail
out of it; nice job.
Also impressive was his Eagle Board:
Tim Arthurs - Troop 111 Eagle Scout, 1963; Venture ASM, Chairman
Carl Doughman - Deputy District Commissioner, Arlington County
John Manning - Troop 111 Scoutmaster, 1970 - 1975
Sally McMullen - Troop 111 Unit Commissioner, Mother of Eagle Scout Nate McMullen.
Roy Mimms - District Eagle Board
Return to 111
Eagles.
