Eagle Scout
Mike Arthurs
Mike Arthurs' passed his Eagle Board of
Review and becomes the Troop's 49th Eagle Scout (and the first
father/son combination.) Mike is also a third-generation Eagle,
following Tim and Captain Marvin Arthurs - making him a rare bird
indeed!
Mike's Honor Role:
- 35 Merit Badges
- 80 Days Long-term Camping
- 75 Days Short-Term Camping
- 5 High Adventure Treks
- 4 50-Miler Awards
- 2 Mile Swim Awards
- ca. 120 combined Troop
- Trail and Community Service Hours
- Patrol Leader
- Quartermaster
- Assistant Senior Patrol Leader
- Troop Guide
Mike's Eagle Project was a tough and unusual one - the installation of
almost 2 dozen trail signs at Camp Olmsted. The signs were both to
point out individual campsites and provide directions at trail
intersections, and were badly needed (the camp had virtually no signage
whatsoever, and novice Scouts and visitors were terminally confused.)
The camp staff (and the campers!) were most impressed with the quality
of the signs and the work.
Mike's Eagle Board - Carl Doughman, John Manning, Roy Mimms, Gordon
Pennington and Chuck Yarbrough.
