I, _____________________________________, hereby state that I understand the schedule of required events and training activities for the Troop 111 2002 Pennsylvania Trek. I have reviewed these with my parents, and I commit to attending all of these events, without fail, unless excused in advance for valid reason (such as SAT exam, school entrance exam, sport playoff game, or serious illness). I understand that my success on the Pennsylvania Trek is wholly dependent upon my own participation and efforts during the training regimen. I also understand that if I do not make an event without previously discussing and receiving an exemption for that event from the Adult Advisors, that I may be terminated from the Trek. I also understand that I may be terminated for failure properly to train (as determined by the Adult Advisors of the crew), or failure to demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude towards my fellow crew members and Adult Advisors.

I understand that planning for the Trek will require making some nonrefundable payments for travel and activities. This commitment acknowledges that the Troop will incur nonrefundable expenses on behalf of all trip participants and that, if I drop out or am terminated as described above, I will be responsible for all costs that cannot be avoided.

I will not use alcohol or tobacco or drugs (except as medically required). I agree to conduct myself according to the Scout Oath and Law. If I use alcohol or tobacco or drugs, or fail to follow the Scout Oath and Law, I understand that the Adult Advisors may so advise my parents, remove me from the Trek, and send me home at my expense.

I,_____________________________________, hereby state that I have reviewed this statement with my son, and agree with and will abide by its terms, including the responsibility to pay for expenses incurred on my son's behalf. I also understand that my support and commitment are equally important to my son's success on the Pennsylvania Trek.
