Summer Camp Update -- Merit Badges

At the troop meeting earlier this week, each scout who will attend summer camp received an individual summer camp merit badge folder. It contains the scout's summer camp merit badge schedule, and a list of camp-identified prerequisites (if any) for any merit badges the scout selected. To avoid partial completions at camp, Camp Powhatan encourages scouts to complete these requirements before arriving. Please do not lose this folder -- you must take it to camp with you.

The front of each scout's folder identifies a merit badge counselor for each prerequisite listed. In cases where there was no Troop 111 counselor, we listed the name and number of a District merit badge counselor not affiliated with our troop, but who resides in Arlington and has offered to counsel boys from other troops. Scouts with prerequisites identified on their folder should contact a merit badge counselor and start the prereqs ASAP. Some prereqs could take several weeks to complete, so it is important to start now.

Note: Although William Haggerty is listed on the current District roster (and on some scout folders) as a merit badge counselor, he is no longer doing merit badge counseling. If Mr. Haggerty is listed on your folder, or if you have any other problems with the listed counselors' availability, please contact Mark or Jane Stanga to obtain the name and number of a different counselor to complete your prereqs.
